It was a pleasure waving the flag today at the PTC parade...it was so much fun watching all the floats go by. Some creative, and some looked at though they were sprung together this morning. Gee...could have put more time into it!
There was a gentleman soldier that stood next to us. I stopped to thank him for his service, and he looked as though he had tears in his eyes. I loved to watch people as they came up to him to thank him for his service...some sadness involved though. NOT one person younger than me stopped to thank him. Most people actually just walked by. There was a lady that yelled out, "hey look there's one, what is he?"...i was mortified. There was a lot of respect for him, but it was among the adults of the same age. What happened to being thankful for where we live and for those that served to get us here!
Let's band together and support our troops, here and there. Even if you disagree with them fighting this fight...SUPPORT THEM! They do this for you! They do this for our children!
I am thankful that my children are Americans...that I am AMERICAN! HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, AMERICA!!!
